My typography-based entry for the Cat vs. Fella
contest. I hope you like it! I've done a little bit of typography work for flyers etc. for my school's performing arts center (which I work at) but I don't think I've ever uploaded any of it to dA.
I used TeX Gyre Pagella, which comes with LaTeX, but if you want to download it by itself you can click here
The cat took the first step. Fella followed close behind, starting on his left foot. The race was only in its first moments, and already it was obvious that neither was giving up any time soon. They crossed the ten-meter mark almost instantly. Fella and the cat were neck and neck*. Suddenly, the cat went into a diving roll under Fella and emerged in the lane next to him. Fella sprang over the cat, but it jumped into the air to grab Fella. They struggled until suddenly the ground rushed up to meet them, and WHAM they hit it, as their momentum carried them forward. They were really moving now, only yards from the finish. Still neck and neck**, they crossed the finish line together. THE END***.
*Does Fella have a neck? Is it just invisible?
**The footnote from before still applies.
***Please note the following: In this context, "THE END" does not signify an end to the lives of either party ("Fella" or "Cat") but merely the end of the story. Timothy Mueller-Harder (hereafter referred to as the "Author") does not hold responsibility over the lives of those mentioned. Any correspondence to characters, real or fictional, is entirely coincidental and not intentional on the part of the Author****.
****Please note: This isn't not false.
